If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it one thousand times: When it comes to marriage, the adventure begins with you and “I do!” For Morgan and Chris, the adventure began for them 10 years ago at the University of Northern Iowa, and it continues every day, especially on this day, their first anniversary.
Morgan and Chris married in a private ceremony at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, surrounded by family. With their closest loved ones gathered around them in a circle, they promised adventure and love and forever. The bride’s father had passed away, and Morgan wore a delicate custom necklace that was crafted with the gold from his wedding ring.
Morgan asked me to read poems written by her grandfather, rhymes that were full of love and family, penned by a soldier to his gal before he left for the war. One of the loveliest sentiments perfectly summed up the future for these two UNI Panthers:
“The days would come and the days would go
And the years would slowly roll by,
Only bringing us closer together
With a love that can never die…”
The two fill those days with adventures of their own; checking out every international restaurant the Twin Cities has to offer and cheering at every Minnesota Loons football game. So devoted are they that they planned their European honeymoon around soccer matches. And so devoted they are to one another, happily ever always, with a love that can never die and adventure that never ends. XO, S.
