I remember the first time I spoke to Anita. I had just pulled into my driveway when my phone rang, registering an unknown number that would become quite familiar to me over the next few weeks. It was bride Anita K., telling me that she read about Away We Go Weddings in an online article for MSPMagazine Weddings featuring our mini weddings that we now call MinneWeddings because we are clever like that. Anita and her sweetheart Roland wanted to be married soon (like, in 30 days) but were too busy for the planning and details.
Over the next 29 days, I assembled a dream I Do! Crew for Roland and Anita. Videography was handled by the dynamic duo at We Do Wedding Videography and the always awesome J. Stoia Portrait Design was hired for photography. Super chill and super talented Liz from Lilia Flower Boutique was the boss of wedding day blooms. As the size of the guest list grew, I found a venue that met the bride's request of an elegant locale by booking The Woman's Club of Minneapolis. Pro Tip: If you ever go there, have the grilled cheese and tomato bisque. We assembled a high-low dessert buffet of our favorite Nikkolette's Macarons and in-season Girl Scout Cookies and packaged thousands of tiny confetti hearts to toast the couple when they walked down the aisle after I pronounced them Mr. and Mrs. J. As the couple hopped a late-night flight to Arizona for their honeymoon, I swept up gold hearts and happy memories before heading home to catch up on much-needed sleep. As you can see from this We Do Weddings video, it was totally worth it.
